The episode is set after the events of the game
Original stories set in iconic video game worlds are featured in this animated anthology series. Video games have made the leap to the big screen in a big way, and we’re celebrating the genre with a closer look at over 50 video game adaptations for movies and shows. Clive Standen will be reprising his voice role as Demetrius Titus, the main character from the video game Space Marine 2.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, it is!
Expanding the video game medium with content made by talented fans with unlimited budgets sounds wonderful, right? The first 8 episodes were great, each one encapsulating the universe they chose for it. I’ve seen critics say they didn’t take any chances with the show.
Have you seen the Pac-Man episode?
Because I did, and it seems to me like they took a big chance. The show is stunning, each graphic style feels well chosen and mastered (as you’d expect from the Love Death and Robot team), it bodes well for the future, let’s hope it allows the video game medium to expand even further. It’s full of Easter eggs without the hassle of the show pointing me in the direction of every detail screaming at me.
HAVE YOU PLAYED THE GAME???
And in the world we live in, that’s already amazing. This is the first time people who truly love the game have taken the risk to expand the medium and please us, the fans. But the beauty of it is that even for people who have never played the games, they can enjoy it, understand it, and empathize with the characters and that feels like a huge challenge that they overcame to me.

The show also has its cons, obviously, some episodes weren’t as good as others (I’m looking at you, new world). Yes, some episodes were short, yes, some jokes were a little off, I never said it was perfect, just that it was amazing.
